Who We Are

Rapid is made up of a friendly team of people, committed to providing a thorough, reliable and professional cleaning service. We currently have in excess of 1200 cleaners and a team of 35 head office staff.

The founding members, Jeff Whitton and Paul Claxton, still have regular contact with both staff members and customers. They are keen to ensure that this close involvement in the day to day operations continues.

Jeff Whitton

Jeff Whitton – Managing Director

Jeff is one of the founding members of Rapid, signing the first ever customer back in 1999.

Since then, Jeff has dedicated his time to ensuring that Rapid builds on its reputation of providing an excellent cleaning service at an affordable price.  Despite having more than 400 customers, Jeff continues to play a vital customer-facing role.

“Although we’ve seen consistent growth within the business which provides us with the ability to cope with very large contracts, every customer is of equal importance to us.”

Paul Claxton

Paul Claxton – Operations Director

Paul is also a co-founder of Rapid, starting the company with an extensive history in operations, particularly in the cleaning industry.

As Operations Director, he has ultimate responsibility for delivering a professional commercial cleaning service to all of our customers.  Paul works very closely with the Regional Managers, as well as Karen, our Head of Customers Services, to ensure this happens.

Claire Jealouse

Claire Jealouse ACMA – Financial Controller

Claire joined Rapid as Financial Controller, in March 2015. As a qualified Management Accountant, she held several management positions including Financial Controller EMEA at the International HQ of a global leader in the hi-tech industry. Claire also worked for two years in practice with KPMG.

As Financial Controller, Claire oversees Rapid’s accounts team and has overall responsibility for the financial aspects of the organisation.

Emily Hunter

Emily Hunter BA (Hons), Assoc CIPD, MSc – Human Resources Manager

Emily joined Rapid in June 2015. After completing her Undergraduate CIPD and Masters degree in Human Resources, she held several roles in the generalist HR field.

Following a busy few years at a FM recruitment agency in London, she came to Rapid wanting to use her knowledge and experience to improve HR processes and to expand on the desire to develop a motivated team of employees.

“Rapid has a wealth of experience in the industry and we are constantly looking for ways to improve standards for both customers and employees. I particularly enjoy working closely with staff at all levels, whilst supporting the development and growth of the company.”

Karen Cropped

Karen Henry-Arthur – Head of Customer Services

Karen first joined Rapid back in 2008. She came here “for a quiet life” having been in a  management role at Heathrow Airport. In Karen’s words, she didn’t plan to stay long and certainly didn’t expect to play such a vital part within the business – 7 years later and she’s still here!

Karen aims to inspire and challenge the customer service team at Rapid and is first point of contact for all customers.

“This is such a diverse role which makes for a challenging work environment but one that is thoroughly enjoyable. Jeff and Paul lead by example in this company and are a great inspiration.”

Jessica Loomes – Sales Manager

Jessica has been a Rapid employee since 2012. She joined as a Telemarketer and was promoted to Field Sales Executive 6 months later. With an impressive track record in winning large contracts, especially in our local Reading area, she became Sales Manager in July 2016.

Jessica is passionate about providing businesses and schools with a competitive cleaning solution.
