Our Commitment to the Environment.

At Rapid Clean we recognise the importance of looking after the environment. We have introduced various improvements over the years and will continue to do so as part of our ongoing commitment.

ISO 14001 Certification.

ISO 14001 is the International Standard for Environmental Management Systems. The framework encourages sustainability by undertaking a systematic approach to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions whilst incorporating socio-economic needs. We were pleased to be awarded this certification in 2021.

Environmental Task Force.

Our Environmental Task Force is a recent initiative at Rapid Clean. This Task Force is made up of people from across the organisation who are passionate about the environment. As a group they meet quarterly to ensure that we are pushing forward with new ideas and holding ourselves accountable in terms of meeting our long and short-term commitments to the environment

Reducing our Impact on the Environment.

In 2015 we adopted the Triple 8 Dosing system which is the best on the market for the reduction of single use plastics. The chemical comes in a highly concentrated format with an easy dosing system so we can dilute chemicals on site. Our cleaning operatives re-use the trigger bottles multiple times, which eliminates single use plastics.

This system also has the added credentials of reducing CO2 in transport; as it is concentrated, each box is smaller (a 1L bottle makes the equivalent of 100 trigger sprays) so this dramatically reduces CO2. We ensure that our suppliers are equally focused on the environment.

We regularly trial new equipment and products that are kinder to the environment but it's important that the products also work well. We are currently trialing eco-friendly vacuum cleaners as well as ethically-sourced, sustainably-sound, products, with environmentally-responsible packaging. These will be rolled out company-wide once we receive appropriate feedback.

Giving our Customers Choice.

We use standard cleaning products, but ensure we also offer alternative options for customers who are striving to be as eco-friendly as possible. We supply consumables to many of our customers and have recently included eco/sustainability ratings that are clearly visible. You can take a look at our most asked-for consumable products here.

Offering choice and responding to our customers' values, is important to us. We want to ensure that those who are particularly passionate about looking after the environment, are served well.

Taking Personal Responsibility.

We are passionate about ensuring that our systems and practices in the workplace are sustainable. As an organisation we set goals every year, some of which include:

✅ Reducing our energy and water usage

✅ Toolbox Training and environmental awareness campaigns distributed across the organisation

✅ Trialing electric vehicles and looking at ways to reduce mileage wherever possible

✅ Reducing paper usage in favour of uploading and transferring information electronically

✅ Ensuring a strict recycling regime across the board

✅ Installing insulation and solar panels on our head office building to reduce costs and our impact on the environment
