Rapid’s Chosen Charity for Christmas 2020

Suzanne Whitton • December 16, 2020

For the last few years, rather than sending out Christmas cards, we have given our head office staff the opportunity to nominate a charity they would like us to send a donation to. This year more than any other, it feels wholly appropriate to be giving to others.

Merry Christmas Charity

We had many worthy charities nominated but Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice was mentioned numerous times. We are therefore pleased to be sending them a donation to support the incredible work that they do.

If you’re not familiar with this charity, Phyllis Tuckwell is situated in Farnham, Surrey. They provide a range of free services to ensure that adult patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness (such as cancer, heart, lung or neurological disease) can make the most of their lives.

We asked Becki Lee, our HR Generalist and Apprenticeship Lead, her reason for nominating this charity:

“I nominated Phyllis Tuckwell as they provide great support to their patients and their families. Personally, I know many that have witnessed the amazing work they do for end of life care. They are on hand 24 hours a day, whether at home or in the hospice, which is invaluable.”

Jeff and Suzanne Whitton have friends who are currently being supported by the wonderful team at Phyllis Tuckwell. This is what their friends had to say:

“The care and compassion that the team shows is phenomenal. The services they provide to patients and families are instrumental in ensuring that every day matters”.

Christmas is often a difficult time of year and 2020 has been so challenging for everyone. We are pleased to be able to support this worthy charity and the many people who they are helping.

We wish all of our staff and clients a safe Christmas. We hope that 2021 is a better year for all.
