St Stephen's CE Primary School, is based in Shepherds Bush, Hammersmith. With just short of 450 pupils attending daily, it’s a busy school both during term time and in the holidays. In 2017, the school’s Facilities Manager contacted us as he no longer felt they were getting value for money with their council-organised cleaning provider, and communication was problematic.

Cheapest Doesn't Always Mean Best!

Rapid was one of six companies that visited to assess the school’s cleaning requirements. Whilst all of the quotes were relatively similar in price, ours wasn’t the cheapest. With tight budgets to meet, many schools place great importance on price but cheap doesn't always mean best. Adam confirmed the reason why Rapid Clean won the contract...

“We didn’t choose based on price, the end decision was down to the people we met from Rapid Clean both in the sales and operations departments, who seemed competent, approachable and knew what they were talking about.”

One of the key problems that Adam wanted to solve, was the managing of the cleaning team. With the old company, if the cleaner didn’t turn up then it was Adam who had to sort out a solution. In short, they were paying for a company to manage the contract, but in reality were mostly doing it themselves.

Never Underestimate Face-to-Face Contact

During the first few weeks we worked hard with Adam and the cleaning team, to ensure that the distribution of time and labour, was as efficient as possible. We inherited one of the cleaners through TUPE, Esther, who the school was eager to keep. Finding an additional cleaner that suited the school and the team there, was crucial…

“The cleaning team we have now is brilliant. Joseph is amazing! The teachers really like him, he is friendly, competent and flexible. You did well as a team finding him and we want to keep him!”

As an organisation we work hard to keep good people, which is especially important in today’s labour market. Keeping a contract is largely thanks to an excellent cleaning team but we asked Adam what else confirms that he made the right choice back in 2017…

“The monthly site audits are really useful. It’s an opportunity to see our Contracts Manager face to face. I can get hold of him on the phone whenever I like, but knowing that he will always be there once a month if I need to show him something physically, is a comfort.”

We are pleased to have been providing a cleaning service for St Stephen’s CE Primary School since September 2017. During that time, Adam has recommended our service to various schools in the local area. We hope that our relationship goes from strength to strength.

St Stephen's CE Primary School is just one out of the 150 schools that we currently service. If you would like to find out more about our education cleaning service and how we might be able to improve your cleaning standards, please make an enquiry.
