An Invitation to Take Part in Thank Your Cleaner Day™ 2023

Sep 25, 2023

Thank Your Cleaner Day™ was first introduced in New Zealand, back in 2015, by the local trade organization for Building Services Contractors (BSCNZ) in cooperation with Kärcher. This year, the UK is one of 46 countries participating.

Thank Your Cleaner Day

When Was the Last Time You Thanked Your Cleaner?

Our current team consists of more than 1000 cleaners, who work tirelessly, sometimes during the night, to ensure that offices, schools, medical centres and leisure facilities, are ready to go the next working day.

Cleaners are an essential part of every workplace but their work often goes by unnoticed, something which seems especially true if they are doing a good job! We want to highlight Thank Your Cleaner Day™ as an opportunity to recognise your cleaners, and show appreciation in person.

We All Like to Feel Valued and Appreciated

At Rapid Clean we will be thanking each of our cleaners personally, offering them the chance to participate in a competition. We will also be encouraging our primary schools to celebrate, by entering a colouring competition to win a prize for their pupils and the school.

We've come up with some ideas on how you might be able to recognise your cleaner and show them that you value their hard work. Most of these will work even if your cleaner comes to your premises outside of working hours:

  • Write each cleaner a personal card or letter of thanks, signed by the staff
  • Encourage each of your staff to personally say a word of thanks to the cleaner, using their name (sounds simple but it often doesn't happen)
  • Consider giving your cleaner a gift voucher for a local shop, restaurant or attraction
  • Feature your cleaning team on your company's social media using #ThankYourCleanerDay
  • Leave out some of their favourite snacks as a 'thank you' (you might need to use detective skills to find out what they like!)
  • Create a 'wall of appreciation' in the cleaning cupboard - use sticky notes and ask your staff to write something encouraging

Whether you’re putting together a gift basket or writing a simple Thank You card, a little bit of recognition goes a long way. If you do decide to participate in the day, don't forget to tag us on social media (LinkedIn, Twitter) and/or send us an email with a photograph to info@rapidclean.co.uk.
