World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – Macmillan

Suzanne Whitton • September 30, 2014

On Friday 26th September 2014 we hosted our very own World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Many of you will know that Macmillan is Rapid’s charity of the year 2014 and we were keen to join in this fabulous national event.

Having plied various staff members, neighbours and Macmillan workers with as much cake as they could  possibly eat, we took to the streets of Sunninghill….

From local companies to members of the general public, everyone was so supportive. Even the local primary school – St Michael’s C of E in Sunninghill – allowed us to sell cakes to pupils and parents at the end of the school day!  We raised a total of £234.63 and know that every penny will go towards the fantastic work that Macmillan do – helping more cancer patients and their families face the biggest challenge of their lives. It’s been a pleasure to be part of something bigger.

LGPS requirements are often misunderstood, yet they can have important financial and administrative implications for both schools and service providers. Understanding the basics early in the procurement process can help avoid delays, unexpected costs and compliance issues later on.
